What is a card reader? It is a device which can be attached to your computer. It can be an internal reader or an external one. The most external ones are attached to the computer via USB. Using such reader you can read and write to your smart cards like SD cards, MMC cards, Compact Flash, Memory sticks, XD cards, etc. These cards are used in PDA’s, mobile phones, digital camera’s, etc.
For example if you have a SD card in your digital camera and you want to copy your photos to your computer to burn them on a CD, you can put the SD card from your digital camera into the reader and the computer will see the SD card as a removable disk.
