The floppy drive

Floppy drive

A floppy drive is a drive which is a drive to read and write to floppies. These drives are in almost every computer. These drives are used for years and years and still they will be used often. Of course not that much as a couple of years ago but these will be used often. Several years ago floppies were used to move data but these days it as storage media has been replaced by the USB stick. But it is often being used as a boot disk. For example as a boot disk for Symantec Ghost or Windows 98.

You can store just a small amount of data on it. It has a capacity of 1.44 MB. To move around small documents like a Word document or Excel document this type of storage can be used without a problem.

When you want to buy a new drive it is quite simple because a such drive doesn’t have different speeds or connectors and the price is quite the same. Almost every computer has a connector for this drive so it can be connected easily.
